Reasons Why Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is a Better Value for Money Than iPhone 14 Pro Max

Don’t get me wrong! It’s been more than a decade since I began to use iPhone as my daily driver and still don’t want to ditch the iOS device out of frustration. Maybe iPhone has grown into me so much so that I fear venturing out of the walled garden. Or, maybe my use case has become way too reliant on iOS to think of anything else. Whatever, that’s about me, but your mileage may be polls apart from me.

While looking at the raw specs of the brand-new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, I was caught up in a question: which one is better value for money between iPhone 14 Pro Max and  Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra? After resisting the urge for a few hours, I thought I should take it on from a general user perspective.

Having delved into several pros and cons, I have found a couple of key things that stand the Galaxy S23 Ultra apart. Though these couple of fronts might not show the same promise to all of you, they do hold significance to warrant a serious churning.

Built-in Stylus for Precision Drawing and Sketching

What’s the point in having a gigantic 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 14 Pro Max or a 6.8-inch screen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, if you can’t get the most out of it? Although I still use my finger as the go-to pointing device, at times, it fails to get the job done due to a lack of precision. Especially when I want to sketch, jot down something with an enhanced flow, or sign digital documents with complete control.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra stylus

I can’t tell about you but drawing on a touchscreen with a finger feels stupid to me as I can’t get through it neatly. Thanks to the built-in stylus that has got enough tricks up its sleeve, S23 Ultra lets you get the most out of the beautiful Edge QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.

Again, everyone might not find S23 Ultra’s stylus in line with their preference but it’s not a question of what a specific person wants. Rather, it’s the question of which device offers you the flexibility to make the most of the display. And on this very front, the Ultra takes the cake. Hands down…

Sorry, iPhone 14 Pro Max, you are still a day late and a dollar short..!

USB-C Port – For Seamless Charging Across the Board

I get it! USB-C port is available on all other smartphones except iPhones. Hence, you can’t say that S23 Ultra has got anything unique in this regard. But once again I would like to remind you that it’s the battle between iPhone 14 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Although Apple has tried hard to mitigate the pain by letting you charge your iPhone faster, the lack of a USB C port is disappointing – to say the least. Not just because you want your beast to get juiced up as faster as other smartphones but because you want to put an end to the feeling that leaves you alone every single time you happen to forget your Lightning cable.

S23 Ultra

Though wireless charging has reduced suffering to a good extent, it still has a long way to go to be mainstream. Thus, I’m not bringing it into play deliberately.

While you can still bring in the pros like seamless integration between hardware and software and all the goodies that come bundled with iOS to bring home the point that iPhone 14 Pro Max is the winner, it would be foolish to ignore the ups that drive S23 Ultra. Galaxy S23 Ultra has got robust hardware, vastly improved software, a good 5 years of security updates, and pretty solid cameras. Unless you are too locked for iOS (like me), you will take note of the upsides that come with Samsung’s offerings.

So, how long shall the iPhone’s real estate remain barren or the charging port continue to make you feel that you are living in an ancient world? Even though I’m still going to hold onto the iPhones for good, these questions aren’t going to subside anytime soon – not just for me but also for many of you…
