That said, let’s learn how to update your Apple Vision Pro automatically and manually.

Update Your Apple Vision Pro: Automatically & Manually

So, how does a software update work on Apple Vision Pro? Pretty much in tune with other iDevices such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac, Apple lets you install the software update on the AR/VR headset both automatically and manually. Hence, you can choose the desired method depending on your needs.

For folks who have a hectic lifestyle, the auto-update is the way to go. So long as the battery is connected to the headset and it has the luxury of a stable Wi-Fi network, software update is installed overnight.

However, if you want to go for the manual software update, you can always head into the update section and do the needful.

Automatically Update Software on Your Mac

  • To get started, open the Settings app on your Apple Vision Pro.
  • In the Settings menu, choose General.
  • Now, choose Software Update.
  • Next, click on Automatic Updates.
  • Next up, the Settings window will display the currently installed version of visionOS. Besides, it will also let you know whether or not an update is available to download and install.
  • Up next, turn on “Download visionOS Updates and Install visionOS Updates.”

Now, as soon as a software update is available, Apple Vision Pro will download and install the update overnight. Ensure that the battery is connected to your Apple Vision Pro and the headset is charging for a smooth software update.

Additionally, make sure your AR/VR headset is connected to Wi-Fi. It’s worth pointing out that you will be notified before a software update is installed on your headset.

Update Apple Vision Pro manually

At any time, you can check for and install software updates.

  • On your Apple Vision Pro, head over to the Settings app -> General -> Software Update.
  • If an update is available, download and install it.
  • While the software update is being installed, take off Apple Vision Pro. You can make use of the progress bar for the update on the front display to keep track of the update.
