Manage Camera Focal Length Presets on iPhone 15 Pro & 15 Pro Max
For those uninitiated, focal length is basically the distance between the nodal point of the lens and the camera’s sensor. The nodal point is where light converges in a lens. To let you capture photos with more precision, Apple has introduced three focal length options for the main camera’s optical zoom. They are:
- Default 24mm – equivalent to 1X optical zoom.
- 28mm – 1.2x optical zoom
- 35mm – 1.5x optical zoom

- To do so, open the Camera app on your iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max and ensure that the “Photo” section is selected.
- Now, tap on the circled 1x icon that shows at the bottom of the viewfinder to switch between 28mm focal length.1.2x optical zoom and 35mm focal length/1.5x optical zoom. Note that tapping on this very icon will take you back to the 1x optical zoom.
