Windows 11 provides a native way to manage the startup apps via the Settings app. Hence, you can keep track of all the apps that have the license to launch right from the onset. 

If you prefer to have a bit quicker method, you would be super glad to know that the Task Manager also lets you nab the culprits and disable them all at your own convenience.

By taking control of the startup apps and services you can not only reduce the startup time but also stop the redundant background processes from running amuck without any rhyme or reason. 

Method 1: Disable iTunes Startup via Windows Settings

  • On your PC, press the Windows + I keys on your keyboard to launch the Settings app. Alternatively, head to the Start button and choose Settings. 
  • On the left-hand side of the Settings window, choose Apps to continue.
  • Next, scroll down a bit and select Startup.
  • On the following screen, you should see a long list of apps that you can auto-launch at startup. 
  • Find the iTunes app and turn off its toggle. Finally, quit the Settings and you are all set. Going forward, this app will no longer open on its own.

Method 2: Disable iTunesHelper Using Task Manager

  • To bring up the Task Manager on your PC, press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys on your keyboard.
  • When the Task Manager shows up, click on the Startup tab in the left sidebar. 
  • In this tab, you will have access to the entire list of apps that have permission to run at startup.
  • Now, search for iTunesHelper and right-click on it.
  • Then, ensure that the Disable option is selected.
  • To force the change to come into effect, make sure to restart your computer.
