2 Ways to Migrate Notes from Evernote to Apple Notes on iPhone and iPad

Evernote has long been a robust note-taking app. Whether it’s clipping web articles for later, scanning documents, or the seamless collaboration across devices, the app has covered all the boxes to be your go-to platform. Recently, Evernote’s decision to limit new and existing freemium users to a maximum of 50 notes and a notebook has irked many. If this restriction has also disappointed you, now is the right time to switch to Apple Notes. Read on to learn how to migrate notes from Evernote to Apple Notes on iPhone and iPad.

To begin with, let’s briefly discuss how exporting notes from Evernote works!

How does exporting notes from Evernote work?

Earlier, Evernote offered a pretty straightforward way to export a note file even in the freemium version of the app on iOS. But that has, unfortunately, changed.

Now, exporting a note from Evernote is available only in the premium version of the note-taking app. Hence, if you aren’t using the paid version of the app, you will need to create a shareable link of the notes you want to export (Open a note -> tap on the profile icon at the top -> turn on the toggle next to Shareable link -> Copy the link) and open them on the preferred device.

  • If your iDevices are connected with the same Apple ID and the iCloud is active for Apple Notes, all of your imported notes will sync across iDevices. That means you won’t have to take the extra steps to bring your notes to the stock notes app.
  • However, if that’s not the case, make sure to email the exported file to yourself or transfer that file to the Files app using AirDrop before going any further.
