Fix Error Code 0x800F0922 in Windows 11 24H2

Why does the 0x800F0922 error code occur on Windows 11 24H2? There are a couple of main reasons why this error raises its head.

  • Ill-functioning internet connection
  • Lack of enough space in the system-reserved partition

Hence, taking these usual suspects into account will most likely let you get rid of the error code and update the software without any roadblocks.

Aside from the above hindrances, you should also keep in mind the Microsoft servers. As always, people tend to rush to download the latest updates, which often causes servers to crash or go sluggish.

1. Is Your Internet Connection Strong and Stable?

Note that the Windows software update requires a strong and stable internet connection. Therefore, make sure that your poor internet connection does not spoil the party. You can test the speed of your Wi-Fi network by playing a YouTube video or launching a website in Bing.

2. Check System-Reserved Partition Space

As already stated above, the error code 0x800F0922 also occurs due to the insufficient system-reserved partition space. Hence, make sure that the clogged-up partition space is not coming in the way. If it’s running low on storage, resize it.

Unfortunately, Windows doesn’t provide a native way to adjust the system-reserved partition storage. But bother not, there are quite a few handy third-party tools such as the EaseUS Partition Master and the MiniTool Partition Wizard that can let you fine-tune the partition size on your PC.

Once you have sorted out this issue, head over to the Settings app -> Windows Update and try to update the software to check whether or not you have resolved the issue.

3. Reboot Your Computer

Believe it or not, a simple restart can often let you resolve miscellaneous Windows update issues. Thus, it would be better to head to the Start button -> Power icon -> Restart. If there is an option to “Update and restart’ the software, be sure to tick it off without fail.

4. Disable VPN

Are you using a VPN (virtual private network) service on your PC? If the answer is yes, I suspect your VPN could be interfering and preventing your computer from connecting to Microsoft’s servers.

  • On your PC, go to the Start button -> Settings app -> Network & internet -> VPN and disable it.

After that, try to update your PC to check if the issue is gone. However, if you are still unable to get the better of the error code, wait and try updating the software later or another day as Microsoft’s servers could be struggling to cope with the demand.
