Tilted Icons in Dark Mode on iPhone Home Screen in iOS 26? Quick Fix!

Tilted Icons in Dark Mode on iPhone Home Screen in iOS 26 Quick Fix!

Boasting the eye-catching Liquid Glass Design, iOS 26 has landed amid a lot of fanfare. While its rollout has been, by and large, a smooth sailing affair, a handful of Redditors have complained about an issue where they run into the tilted icons on the iPhone Home Screen. If this frustrating issue has caused inconvenience for you as well, I’ve got you covered with reliable ways to fix it.

“I updated my phone to iOS 26, and I’m really shocked when I saw the Home Screen in dark mode, to be honest! The frame glow effect makes apps look tilted, and it’s really distracting for me (I even feel a bit dizziness). Does anyone else have the same experience?” – A Reddit user named tantunidevourer complained.

As per reports, the new “tilted” appearance that apps use when the Dark Mode is active makes an app icon show a soft glow around it. While it’s designed to make the Home Screen icons stand out from the background, many users have found this behaviour distracting. Worse, some have even claimed that it causes dizziness.

Though Apple has yet to respond to the issue, there are a couple of workarounds that can help mitigate the frustration in the meantime.

Tone Down the Liquid Glass Effect

The “Tilted Appearance” is a byproduct of the “Liquid Glass Effect”. Hence, reducing the intensity of the Liquid Glass Design may help you resolve the issue.

  • On your iPhone, head over to the Settings app > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Enable the toggle for Reduce Transparency.
  • After that, reboot your iPhone and see if it resolves the problem.
Turn OFF Liquid Glass Design in watchOS 26 on Apple Watch

Disable the Dark Mode for Home Screen Icons

Should the issue persist, get rid of the Dark Mode for the app icons.

  • To do so, long-press on the Home Screen > Tap on the Edit button at the top left > Customize.
Customize Home Screen menu
  • Now, tap the Default option in the menu > then restart your iPhone.

There is a decent chance Apple may already be aware of this issue. So, keep an eye on the latest update and install it from the Software Update (Settings > General) section as soon as it’s rolled out.
