Whether you wish to shower love on your dear ones, show frustration, or put forward a tongue-in-cheek feeling, an emoji can let you do that and more. They rightly say, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” In the case of emojis, this age-long saying perfectly fits into the context. Knowing how much each one of us likes using emojis in messaging, Apple makes sure to add a bunch of them with the release of every new OS.
And guess what? The Cupertino giant is all geared up to launch 7 pretty cool emojis in iOS 18. Read on…
7 New Emojis All Set to Launch in iOS 18 on iPhone and iPad
Here is the complete list of emoji characters that are going to grace iOS 18:
- Face with bags under eyes
- Splatter
- Fingerprint
- Leafless tree
- Harp
- Shovel
- Root vegetable
It’s worth pointing out that the “Unicode Consortium” has kickstarted the beta review period for Unicode 16 which contains the new emoji characters.
Once the beta period ends on July 2, the Unicode 16 will be rolled out. Subsequently, these latest characters will also be given the go-ahead.
If you are wondering when exactly these characters will be launched on iOS, let me tell you that the whole implementation process takes quite a few months. Just like any other smartphone maker, Apple will also need to craft artwork for these new emojis. That means they will likely get included in iOS by the end of this year or early 2025.
As we are talking about emojis, I would like to highlight a couple of neat emoji-related tips.
- First and foremost, you can now send an emoji as a sticker on your iPhone.
- Simply, bring up the software keyboard -> tap on the emoji icon -> Now, find an emoji character, and drag it into the text field. As soon as the emoji is placed in the text field, it becomes large. Now, all you have to do is just hit the send icon to send the emoji as a fun-loving sticker.
- The other fascinating tip that I would like to share with you is the ability to create an emoji stack. Yeah, you got that right! You can combine several different emojis to make a hilarious emoji stack. To get it done, send an emoji using the drag-and-drop gesture and then drop other emojis on (or around) that particular emoji to create a stack. Intriguing, isn’t it?
