“Hot Corners” has long been one of my favorite macOS features. What makes it so cool is the ability to let you quickly invoke actions by moving the pointer to a corner. For instance, you can instantly lock the screen or bring up the Launchpad by moving the pointer at the top right corner of the screen. Sounds interesting? Let me show you how to use Hot Corners in macOS 13 Ventura on Mac.
How to Set Up and Customize Hot Corners on Mac in macOS 13 Ventura or Later
Due to a complete overhaul, the settings for several features including “Hot Corners” have been tweaked in macOS Ventura. Hence, when I upgraded to Ventura, I was left scratching my head wondering where Apple has put this notable feature. Luckily, the hunt didn’t send me for a long digging. Enough talk, time to go ahead with the quick steps:
Step 1. To get going, launch the System Settings app on your Mac. Or, just hit the Apple menu at the top left corner of the screen -> System Settings.
Step 2. Now, click on Desktop & Dock in the sidebar.
Step 3. Next, scroll down to the bottom and hit Hot Corners on the right.
Step 4. Next up, click on a specific corner and choose an option like Launchpad, Lock Screen, Notification Center, etc in the menu.
It’s worth pointing out that the bottom-right hot corner of the screen is set to Quick Note. Hence, you can activate Quick Note by just dragging the pointer to the bottom right corner of the screen on your Mac. If you want to choose a different action, click on the corner and select a preferred option.
Step 5. In the end, make sure to click on Done to confirm the action. Going forward, you can activate the selected action by moving the pointer to the designated corner on your Mac.
Pro Tip:
- Notably, you can also use a modifier key with the hot corner.
- To do so, press and hold the Command, Shift, Option, or Control keys while viewing the pop-up menus.
