Apart from letting you smartly organize app windows, Stage Manager also makes it pretty straightforward to switch between the app windows. By default, this all-new app windows organizer shows all windows from an app at once. While this is well-thought-out and designed to smoothly switch between all the windows, some folks might find it chaotic. Fortunately, there is a way to stop showing all windows from an app at once in Stage Manager on your Mac. Here is how you can get it done!
Stop Stage Manager from Showing All Windows from an App at Once in macOS Sonoma
Since there is no dedicated section for Stage Manager, it’s a bit confusing to find the setting to customize Stage Manager on Mac. So, when I wanted to fine-tune this windows organizer in line with my preference, it took me some digging. And I guess I’m not alone to have been on this perplexing path. Anyway, that’s no longer the case now!
Step 1. To get going, open the System Settings app on your Mac. Alternatively, you can click on the Apple menu at the top-left corner of the screen and choose System Settings.
Step 2. Now, click on Desktop & Dock.
Step 3. Next, head over to the Stage Manager section and then ensure that the toggle next to Stage Manager is turned on.
Step 4. Next up, click on Customize.
Step 5. Click on the drop-down menu next to Show windows from an application.
Step 6. Now, you have two options to choose from:
- All at Once: Choose it to show all windows
- One at a Time: Select it to show only one window from an app at a time
Finally, select One at a Time -> click on Done and you are good to go!
