Even though Control Center offers a straightforward way to take control of Bluetooth on Mac, I prefer to display Bluetooth in the menu bar on Mac. Apple has revamped the System Preferences app on Mac. Now, it’s called “System Settings” and sports a striking similarity with the Settings app for iPhone and iPad. While there is no doubt that the overhauled design feels pretty intuitive, a lot of things have changed including the ability to add the Bluetooth icon to the menu bar. That’s the reason why I thought it would be better to create a short piece about it since many users would be wondering about how it’s done.
Step 1. To get started, open the System Settings app on your Mac. Alternatively, click on the Apple menu located at the top left corner of the screen and choose System Settings.
Step 2. Now, click on Control Center.
Step 3. Click on the drop-down menu next to Bluetooth and choose Show in Menu Bar.
That’s done! The Bluetooth icon will start showing straight away. From now onwards, you can enable/disable Bluetooth on your Mac right from the menu bar. Moreover, you can also jump into the Bluetooth settings from the menu bar icon itself.
Hide Bluetooth from Mac’s Menu Bar
Later, if you ever want to remove the Bluetooth icon from Mac’s menu bar, go back to the Control Center setting. After that, click on the drop-down menu next to Bluetooth and choose the Don’t Show in Menu Bar in the menu.
Signing off…
So, that’s how you can keep the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar on macOS. It’s worth pointing out that you can hide or show many other frequently used features in your Mac’s menu bar. For example, you can display Focus, AirDrop, Stage Manager, and even Focus in the menu bar for hassle-free access. Therefore, head into the Control Center setting and then fine-tune all the handy features in line with your preference.
