Apart from being a highly secure messaging app, Telegram is also feature-packed. One of my favorite features of this popular messaging app is the ability to set custom notification sounds for Telegram chats on iPhone and Android. What makes it so cool is that it allows you to identify the alerts from specific chats with utmost ease. Of course, it also gives a touch of personalization to your chats. That said, let’s dive right in to get started!
Set Custom Notification Sounds for Telegram Chats on iPhone and Android
First and foremost, ensure that Telegram is updated on your device. If you haven’t done it yet, open the App Store on your iPhone or Google Play Store on your Android device > Find Telegram and then update the app as usual.
The other thing that you should keep in mind is that your audio clip must be of less than 5 seconds and up to 300KB in size.
Step 1: Open the Telegram app on your device and then head over to the chat in question.
Step 2: Now, touch and hold the sent/received audio clip and choose the Save for Notifications in the popup menu.

Step 3: Next, you should see a confirmation at the bottom saying that your custom notification sound has been added. Just tap on this alert to proceed. (Alternately, navigate to Settings > Notifications and Sounds). After that, tap Private Chats.

Step 4: Now, choose the Sound option.
Step 5. Finally, select the Cloud Tone located under the Telegram Tones section, and you are done!

That’s pretty much done. Check out this hands-on video for more info:

There you go! So, that’s how you can set any audio clip as the notification sounds for your favorite Telegram chats on your iOS or Android device. Now that you know how this cool feature works, make the most of it to personalize your chats.
While WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular messaging app in the world due mainly to the sheer numbers (over 2 billion users), Telegram stands out (about 450-500 million users) as a highly secure messaging app along with Signal (over 50 million users). Let me know the things you like most in Telegram and the sort of features you would love to see in it in near future.
