Having won a lot of hearts as a pretty impressive iOS feature, Live Activities has eventually landed on watchOS with the release of watchOS 11. Hence, you can now use your Apple Watch to keep track of real-time information like food delivery, live cricket scores, Instagram uploads, and more – right from the comfort of your Apple Watch Lock Screen. Yeah, no more digging around or jumping in and out of a respective app to stay in the loop with something that matters to you.
Better still, with your iPhone running iOS 18, you can now mirror your Live Activities from iPhone to the paired Apple Watch for a seamless tracking experience. Read on to get started!

To get going, make sure that your app allows mirroring Live Activities on Apple Watch.
- Simply, head over to the Watch app on your iPhone -> General -> Auto Launch.
- Select Live Activities Settings.
- Under the Mirror iPhone Live Activities From section, make sure your apps have been listed.
- After that, select the app in question and ensure that the toggle for Mirror Live Activity from iPhone is enabled.
Enable Live Activities for Your iPhone App
Next, you have to enable the Live Activities for the app on your iPhone. For the purpose of this guide, I’m going to use the Instagram app.
- To do so, open the Settings app on your iPhone -> Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and choose Apps.
- After that, select Instagram and ensure that the toggle next to Live Activities is turned on.
Mirror Live Activities from Your iOS Device to Your watchOS Device
- Having taken care of the basics, it’s time to launch Instagram and try uploading a video. Hit the “+” button at the bottom and select a video.
- Then, enter the needed details and upload the video.
- Next up, bring up the Lock Screen and allow the Live Activities to show up. And that’s about it!
You can now keep track of the upload status right from your iPhone Lock Screen and your Apple Watch.
Well, this is just the tip of the iceberg as you can track a variety of activities. The good thing is a ton of apps already support this neat feature. And by the time, watchOS 11 finally hits the ground running, a gazillion apps will arrive with the full-fledged compatibility of this feature.
