Every game has an ultimate weapon that you must get to be superior in the game. Talking about Sailor Piece, Shadow Monarch is the ultimate weapon of all. Every player, when climbing up the levels, would want to have the Shadow Monarch sword with them. And why wouldn’t they? It’s one of the best and most powerful weapons in the game.
Having this weapon in your hand completely changes the way you fight. This sword grants you abilities like a statue with fire attacks, AOE attacks, slashes, etc. But being an ultimate weapon, it’s hard to get into the game.
You need to conquer a few quests before you can prove you are worthy enough to wield it (feels like a weapon from Norse mythology). For a beginner, it can be pretty tricky without the right guide. I have been there too, stuck in the game, searching for a way out to complete the quests. This article will guide you on how you can get the Shadow Monarch in Sailor Piece.
Required Materials & Loot
To get Shadow Monarch, you need a few materials. You need to farm these materials before you can talk to the Monarch NPC. I made this mistake myself; I went to Dungeon Island and tried to interact with the Monarch NPC. And as you might have guessed, it was of no use without the materials.
First of all, you need the Jinwoo Sword. This sword will later be upgraded to Shadow Monarch, so even if you have all the other items, they will be useless without this sword. For this, you need to complete the Jinwoo Trainer questline.
Apart from the Jinwoo Sword, you need a few other items:
- 1x Shadow Crystal
- 5x Monarch Essence
- 2x Kamish Daggers
- 10x Monarch Cores
You will also need the King of Shadows title. All of these items can be obtained on Dungeon Island.
You will also need Solo Hunter Status. For this, complete the Solo Hunter Trajiner’s Questline on the Sailor Island.
Farming the Double Dungeon
The items that I have listed above can be obtained from Double Dungeon on Dungeon Island. So, first of all, head over to the teleporter and interact with it. Now, teleport to Dungeon Island.
On this island, you need to look for the Dungeon Master NPC. Go inside the building, and he will be located at the end of the building. Press E to interact with him. To talk to the NPC, you must have a 5000 level.
When you interact with him, you will be able to fight the Shadow Monarch Boss. Now, you need to keep fighting the boss again and again to get all the items mentioned above. There’s no sure shot chance that you will get the items in one go.
- King Of Shadows Title– There’s 6.75% – 12% chance that you will get this item when you defeat the boss.
- Shadow Crystal- 0.5%- 2.75% chance of getting it.
- 5x Monarch Essence- There’s a 2.75%-6.5% chance the Monarch Boss will drop it.
- 2x Kamish Daggers– It also has a very low chance of 0.75%- 1.4%.
- 10x Monarch Cores– Like the above items, it has 0.8%-1.15% drop chance.
You will have to keep fighting the boss in Double Dungeon to get these items. Sailor Piece has a pity system for all the rare items, like Shadow Crystal. So, if you still don’t get the item after 25 tries, then your luck will automatically increase.
How to Get Shadow Monarch
Now that you have all the above items, you can follow these steps to get the Shadow Monarch sword in the game.
- Head over to the top of the white building on Dungeon Island.
- You will see the Shadow Monarch Trainer here. Talk to the one on the right side of the roof.
- Equip the Jinwoo Sword in your hand, and talk to the NPC.
- You will now have to give all the required items, along with your Jinwoo Sword, and in exchange, he will give you the Shadow Monarch Sword.
Once you get the sword, you will notice that the main move (or the ultimate move) of the sword is locked. You cannot use it now, so worry not. You first need to complete the mastery quest to be the master of all the abilities of the sword.
- Look for the Mastery NPC at the top of the building and interact with him.
- Now, he will give you a list of quests that you need to complete-
- You need to win the Double Dungeon Quest 10 times in the game on the hard or extremely difficult level.
- Next, you must change your clan to Monarch Clan. (This is difficult to get, and might require multiple spins before you get the clan.
- After this, defeat 25 Shadow Soldiers.
- Once you complete the above quests, you will unlock the master move of the sword.
Shadow Monarch Skills and Abilities
Once you have obtained the Shadow Monarch sword and mastered it, this will grant you a whole new set of abilities that make you undefeatable in the game.
- Medium Range Slice – This attack is bound to the Z key, and cuts the enemy and then ends with a dash.
- Statue Summon – You can use this attack by pressing the X key. It will summon a statue that will damage anyone nearby with Fire.
- Small AOE – Press C button to use this attack. Throws energy that can cause massive energy in a small area.
- Super Speed Splashes – Press the V button to perform super speed splashes in a wider area and with very serious damage.
- Infinite Purple Slashes – This is the ultimate move of the sword that you can trigger by pressing the F key. Throws infinite purple splashes on the enemies and has a cool cutscene. Not just that, the damage will be increased by 30%.

Getting the Shadow Monarch Sword in Sailor Piece is a real grind. But all the grind is worth it for obtaining the best and most powerful sword in the game. But before that, you need to prove yourself by getting the right race and collecting all the items. Also, obtaining the sword is not enough.
