How to Enable 4K Cinematic Mode on All iPhone 14 Models

Times when you wish to shoot Hollywood-style videos like a pro, cinematic mode comes into play. First introduced on iPhone 13 Series, it takes advantage of the Dolby Vision HDR and a photography technique called “rack focus” to seamlessly shift the focus from one subject to another. On ‌iPhone 13‌ models, you can record video in Cinematic Mode only in 1080p at 30fps. However, on ‌‌iPhone 14‌‌ series, Apple allows you to record cinematic videos in 4K at 30fps and 4K at 24fps. That said, here is how you can enable 4K cinematic mode on all iPhone 14 models.

Enable 4K Cinematic Mode on iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max

In order to achieve the depth of field, “Rack Focus” first locks the focus on the subject in a scene and then blurs the background. As a result, when you subsequently move the camera to focus on a new subject or a new subject comes into the frame, Cinematic mode seamlessly switches the focal point to this new subject, blurring the background to make the whole scene look dramatic.

Step 1. To get started, launch the Settings app on your ‌iPhone 14‌.

Step 2. Now, scroll down and tap tap on Camera.

Choose Camera

Step 3. Next, tap on Record Cinematic.

Step 4. Next up, you can choose either 4K at 24 fps or 4K at 30 fps.

And that’s all there is to it! Now, it’s time to shoot Hollywood-style videos using your iPhone.

It’s worth pointing out that a minute of Cinematic video will capture up to 135MB of storage with 4K at 24 fps selected. And if you record a Cinematic movie with 4K at 30 fps, a minute of the clip will gobble up to 170MB of storage. So, while using this camera feature, be sure to keep in mind the total file size the video will take up.

Wrapping up…

Though cinematic mode has been impressive right from the word go, it has become much better on iPhone 14 series.
