According to Apple, iOS 16 comes with an under-the-hood technology that is set to automatically run in the background in order to collect carbon emission data from the local load balancing authority in your region. Having collected the much-needed carbon emission data, the iPhone downloads a carbon emission forecast from the authority. Note that Clean Energy Charging is currently available only in the US. Apple is likely to roll it out in other countries in the future.
Turn ON/OFF Clean Energy Charging on iPhone
Though Clean Energy Charging is enabled by default, you can choose to turn it off/on as per your needs.
Step 1. To get started, open the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 16.1 or later.
