While there is no doubt that “Accessibility” has long been top-notch across iDevices, the addition of eye-catching add-ons like the Music Haptics, Vehicle Motion Cues, Eye-Tracking, and Vocal Shortcuts has further enriched its profile. Though I still can’t figure out if the beloved “Apple Watch Mirroring” has been part of the Accessibility suite for ages, why the much-talked-about “iPhone Mirroring” has landed in the territory of “Continuity”. Activate Accessibility Shortcut with a Vocal Shortcut on iPhone and iPad
So, how does connecting Accessibility Shortcuts to Vocal Shortcuts work on iOS and iPadOS? To get going, you need to first customize the Accessibility Shortcuts list to ensure only the preferred features are selected. Once that’s out of the way, create a vocal shortcut -> pair it with the Accessibility Shortcut and you are good to go. Well, that’s the snapshot of the whole story.
Customize Accessibility Shortcut on Your iPhone or iPad
- Head over to the Settings app -> Accessibility -> Accessibility Shortcut.
- Now, select the Accessibility features that you would like to use and get out of the settings.

From now onward, you can quickly access the “Accessibility Shortcuts” menu with this very Vocal Shortcut on your iPhone or iPad. Just say, “Shortcut” to bring up the menu and select the desired feature that you want to use. Yeah, it’s that straightforward.
Even though iOS boasts a wide range of shortcuts, I bet “Vocal Shortcuts” are going to beat all the existing ones by some distance. While Siri shortcuts haven’t yet been able to win the hearts of average users, back-tap has been a frustrating hit-and-miss trick, Voice Control has never felt intuitive enough. What do you think?
