How to Disable iCloud Private Relay for Specific Websites on iPhone & iPad

iCloud Private Relay is readied to safeguard your privacy. When enabled, it ensures no one – not even Apple can find out who you are and which sites you are visiting. To deliver enhanced privacy and also prevent insidious tracking, iCloud Privacy Relay sends your requests through two separate and secure internet relays; thereby ensuring that your IP address remains hidden. While it’s well-thought-out and the need of the hour, at times, you may need to show your IP address to a particular website. Thankfully, there is a pretty easy way to disable iCloud Private relay for specific websites on iPhone and iPad. Read on to learn how it’s done:

Turn OFF iCloud Private Relay for Specific Safari Websites on iPhone & iPad

For those unfamiliar, Apple announced iCloud Private Relay at WWDC 2021 and it’s available for iCloud+ subscribers (starts at $0.99/month) on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

  • To get started, open Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
  • After that, head over to the website you would like to show your IP address to.
  • After that, tap on the menu button (aA) in the address bar.
Tap on the menu button
  • Next, tap on “Show IP Address” to disable iCloud Private Relay for this specific site and browsing session
  • Finally, make sure to tap on “Continue” when the “Allow (website) to temporarily see your IP Address?” popup shows on the screen.
  • And that’s pretty much it!

The iCloud Private Relay feature will be immediately turned off not only for this specific website but also for this particular browsing session.

Keep in mind when you close the tab or open a new one, you will need to turn off iCloud Private Relay again (if you continue to let the website see your IP address).

At any time, you want to activate the iCloud Private Relay for the website, head over to the same menu and choose “Hide IP Address” again.
