As promised, Apple rolled out the watchOS 11 public beta to let tech enthusiasts test the pre-released software. While most folks have managed to install the beta without any pain, a handful of Apple Watch users have complained that the watchOS 11 public beta is not showing up on their devices. If you also have run into the same problem and can’t install the watchOS 11 public beta on your Apple Watch, this guide is for you. Read on…
Fix watchOS 11 Public Beta Not Available Problem
In most cases, you can get rid of the watchOS 11 public beta unavailability problem by just taking care of the basics. However, if the quick tips don’t yield the desired, you may have to opt for a bit radical solution.
Make Sure to Check Your Device Compatibility
Keep in mind that watchOS 11 supports only Apple Watch Series 6 and later. Therefore, be sure that your device is compatible with running the latest iteration of watchOS
Ensure That You Have Signed Up for the Apple Beta Program
Note that if you have not tried the watchOS or iOS beta before, make sure to sign up for the Apple Beta Software program.
- To do so, open Safari on your iPhone and go to the Apple Beta Program site
- Now, sign up for the Apple beta software program.
Make Sure Your iPhone is Running iOS 18 Beta
Note that in order to install the watchOS 11 beta on your Apple Watch, you need to first install the iOS 18 beta on your companion iPhone. To ward off any unexpected data loss, be sure to fully back up your iPhone via Finder/iTunes or iCloud.
- If your iPhone is not running iOS 18 beta, go to the Settings app -> General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates -> Select iOS 18 Public Beta.

- Then, tap on the back button at the top left corner of the screen.
- Now, wait for a few seconds to allow the iOS 18 Public Beta to show up.
- After that, you can download and install the iOS 18 beta just like any other update.
Hard Reset Your Apple Watch
However, if the watchOS 11 Public beta is still not showing up for your Apple Watch, it might be the after-effect of a random software glitch. But bother not as the force reset may get rid of the glitch and bring the public beta back on track.
- To force reset your Apple Watch, press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side button for a few seconds until the Apple logo greets you on the screen.

Erase Your Apple Watch and Re-Pair It With Your iPhone
If nothing has worked in fixing the watchOS 11 Public beta problem, I would recommend you completely erase your Apple Watch and re-pair it with your iPhone.
- To do so, head over to the Watch app on your iPhone -> General -> Reset -> Erase Apple Watch and settings.

- After that, re-pair your Apple Watch with the iPhone.
- Then, go back to the General section in the Watch app -> Software Update -> Beta Updates to check if the watchOS 11 public beta has shown or not. Hopefully, it should be readily available for installation.
