Stage Manager is a robust windows manager designed to let you take control of all the open windows and switch between them at your own pace. Ever since macOS received this feature (in Ventura), it has been my go-to windows manager. Recently, a handful of users have reported that the “Stage Manager” is not showing up in the Control Center on their Macs. If its icon is also missing from your Mac’s Control Center, I have got you covered with a quick fix. Read on…
Fix Stage Manager Not Showing Up in Control Center
As I have encountered this frustrating macOS issue a couple of times, I can tell what tends to trigger it. Unbeknown to many, there is a hidden setting that allows the Stage Manager to appear in the Control Center. If that’s not the case on your macOS device, there is a solid reason to blame a software bug for the whole chaos.
Ensure That the Stage Manager is Allowed to Show in Your Mac’s Control Center
To begin with, I would recommend you ensure that the “Stage Manager” is allowed to show up in the Control Center. Slightly buried in the “Desktop & Dock” section exists an option called “Displays have separate spaces” which must be activated for the Stage Manager icon to be present in the CC.
- To do so, launch the System Settings app on your Mac -> Now, select the “Desktop & Dock” option in the left sidebar.
- Now, scroll down to find the “Displays have separate spaces” and ensure that the toggle next to it is enabled.
- After that, click on the Apple menu at the top left corner of the screen and choose the “Restart” option.
- Once your Mac has restarted, click on the “Control Center” icon at the top-right corner of the screen to check if the Stage Manager icon has showed up. If the icon has finally appeared, you are good to go.
Update Your Mac
However, if the Stage Manager continues to be absent from the Control Center, try updating your Mac. Considering the fact that macOS 15 is plagued by several frustrating bugs, it wouldn’t be wrong to blame a macOS bug for the issue.
- To update your Mac, navigate to the Apple menu -> choose System Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Now, make sure to allow your Mac to check for the update. If it shows the available macOS update, download and install it.
And that’s all there is to it! Hopefully, you have fixed the Stage Manager issue and it has begun to show up in the Control Center.
