I don’t think many folks would be aware of the fact that the Live Audio Transcription feature is limited to a few countries and regions. Yeah, it’s extremely disappointing. However, you shouldn’t be disappointed at all.

Is Live Audio Transcription Available in Your Country/Region?

macOS 15 Sequoia provides a hassle-free way to change the country and region. That means by switching to the United States, you will be able to unlock the Live Audio Transcription feature on your Mac.

  • To do so, navigate to the System Settings app on your Mac.
  • Now, ensure that the General section is selected in the sidebar.
  • After that, select Language & Region.

  • Then, hit the drop-down menu next to Region and choose Americas.
  • Next, scroll down and select the United States.

  • Finally, make sure to restart your Mac in order to implement the change.

Right Way to Enable and Use Live Audio Transcription in Apple Notes

  • After you have managed to change the country to “US” on your Mac, open the Apple Notes app.
  • After that, open a note or create a new one as usual.
  • Then, hit the Audio icon at the top. Alternatively, right-click on the screen and select the Record Audio option in the contextual menu. 
  • Next, hit the Live Audio Transcription button located at the bottom left corner of the recording UI.

  • Next up, it’s time to record your thoughts and make the recording turn into text in real-time.
  • If you want to take a pause, hit the recording button. Should you wish to begin again, click on the Resume button.
  • To finish the recording and also save it, hit the Done button at the bottom.
