What could be preventing you from downloading apps? Well, it could be the byproduct of more than one culprit. For instance, it might be the after-effect of the ill-functioning Wi-Fi network, the cluttered storage, or a concealed software glitch.

1. Fix Your Sluggish Internet Connection

If your internet connection is below par, the inability to download apps could very well be its after-affect.

  • Go to the Settings > Wi-Fi or Cellular -> turn off/on the toggle.
  • If it’s possible, switch to a different Wi-Fi network.
  • Additionally, you can also take advantage of the airplane mode to fix the sluggish internet connection. Simply, bring up the Control Center and hit the airplane mode icon to turn it off/on.

2. Force Kill the App Store

9. Check the App Store Status

If the App Store is down or faced with a technical issue, downloading apps could be a problem. Navigate to the Apple System Status and check if the App Store is up and running as expected.

10. Sign Out and Back Into the App Store

If you are still struggling to download new apps, sign out and sign back into the App Store.

  • To get it done, launch the App Store -> your profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen -> scroll down to the bottom of the screen, and hit Sign Out.
  • After signing out, sign back in using your Apple ID and password.
