Can’t Enable Apple Intelligence in macOS Sequoia 15.1? Fix It!

Activating Apple Intelligence is a piece of cake. So long as you have followed the basics, you can breeze through the whole process without any pain whatsoever. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case for some users who have complained that they can’t enable Apple Intelligence on their Macs. If this frustrating macOS issue has blocked your path as well, let’s get rid of it!

Fix Apple Intelligence Not Working on Mac

Beyond the software glitch, hardware and software compatibilities could be the main reason why the Apple Intelligence is not showing up on your Mac.

1. Is Your Mac Compatible to Get Apple Intelligence?

To begin with, I would like to highlight the Apple Intelligence compatibility as it works only with the Macs equipped with the Apple M-Series chip. Yes, you got that right! If your Mac lacks the Apple silicon chip, it can get Apple’s artificial intelligence.

2. Is Your Mac Updated with macOS 15.1 or later?

Beyond the hardware compatibility, activating Apple Intelligences on Mac requires macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later. If your Mac is not running the supported version of the software, navigate to the System Settings app -> General -> Software Update -> Now, download and install the macOS update.

3. Have You Set the Apple Intelligence Language to US English

As far as language compatibility is concerned, Apple Intelligence is limited to US English only. Hence, you must switch Apple Intelligence language to US English

  • On your Mac, open the System Settings -> Apple Intelligence & Siri -> hit the menu next to Language and select US English.

4. Join the Apple Intelligence Waitlist and Set It Up

  • Once you have meticulously checked off the key requirements, head into the System Settings app -> Apple Intelligence & Siri -> Join Apple Intelligence Waitlist -> Join Waitlist.
  • Now, give your Mac some time to make Apple Intelligence ready, and then go through the instructions to set up the AI.

5. Change Country/Region to United States on Your Mac

Should Apple Intelligence continue absent on your Mac, try changing the region to the United States on your Mac.

  • To change the region, go to the System Settings app -> General -> Language & Region -> hit the menu next to Region -> Americas -> United States.
  • Now, restart your Mac and then check if the Apple Intelligence has finally arrived on your macOS device. More often than not, the AI should now be back to normal.
