There are no specific tasks or quests that you need to complete or activate in order to start mining in Crimson Desert. In fact, all you need is one pickaxe and you are good to go. How to get a Pickaxe in Crimson Desert?

Getting the pickaxe  is simple and easy. You don’t have to run around looking for resources to craft the pickaxe. All you need to do is head over to Hernand and activate Rhett’s quest. You can start this quest only when you’ve  completed Turnali’s request. When you start Rhett’s quest, he  will hand you a pickaxe and the task will be to get iron ore from a specific location which will be marked on the map.

Where Can You Mine Iron Ore?

To complete Rhett’s quest, head over to the location that has been marked on your map. Once you make your way towards the cliffs,  you’ll see a number of dark rocks present on the cliffs. Use your pickaxe to break these dark rocks to get iron ore. Make sure to break all of these dark rocks or iron veins to get all the iron ore you want. You will also small sizes of iron ore, pick them up manually to add them to your inventory.

To use the pickaxe, press and hold the L1 or LB buttons if you are using a controller or the Ctrl key if you play  Crimson Desert with a mouse and keyboard. To equip the pickaxe to your character, press the F2 key on your keyboard

All Locations in Crimson Desert to get Iron Ore

Now that you know how to get the pickaxe and how you can mine iron ore, it’s time to look at  all the locations where you can find and mine iron ore in the game.

There are 5 key locations where you can find iron ore in and around the specific locations. Here’s the list

  • East of Hernand
  • Hernand Highlands
  • Anvil Hill (Southern Region)
  • General Hernand Area (in between the cliffs and crevices)
  • Rocca’s Hill Area

While these are just general locations on the map, you need to look at the different crevices when you visit the specific areas to mine iron ore. From the map that you see below, all the yellow spots on the map are locations where you can find and mine iron ore. Some of the orange spots on the map will have a mix of iron ore and other resources that are useful depending on the quest you are completing.
