Apple’s iOS beta updates often bring exciting features and enhancements, but they’re not always smooth sailing. With iOS 18.5 Beta 4, users have started encountering some persistent and frustrating bugs that can disrupt the everyday iPhone experience.
In this post, we’re diving into the 7 most annoying issues plaguing this latest beta release, so you know exactly what to watch out for if you’re testing it yourself.
1. Broken Stickers
The iOS 18.5 seems to have crippled the stickers for a handful of users.
“Keyboard/stickers are still broken. Either Apple can’t fix it or they don’t care enough to,” SmplyRcklss reported on Reddit.
Solution: Force-killing the app and rebooting your iPhone will help you temporarily restore your stickers.
2. Face ID Cripples an App on CarPlay
A Redditor named Ubiquitous1984 has reported that if Face ID is set up for a specific app, it doesn’t show up in CarPlay.
“Another user identified that if you have Face ID setup for an app, it will no longer appear in CarPlay. And hence the notifications will not show,” complained Ubiquitous.
Solution: Try updating the problematic app (via the App Store > your profile) as it could be due to incompatibility.

3. Music Stops After Voice Commands, Siri, and a Phone Call
sicilian504 has reported that music doesn’t resume on his CarPlay after he makes a phone call, or uses voice commands/Siri.
I’m hoping there are eventually fixes for carplay. My music tends to not resume after using voice commands, Siri, or a phone call.
Solution: Relaunching the music app should help you get rid of this issue. If it still persists, try updating the music app.
4. AirPods Pro 2 Doesn’t Show Up in the Bluetooth Settings
NegativePlatypus has reported that the AirPods Pro 2 is no longer connecting to the iPhone.
“AirPods Pro 2 (Lightning case) will not connect. Reset doesn’t work either. Won’t even show up in Bluetooth settings.”
Solution:
- Resettings the AirPods Pro 2 will help you resolve the issue. Additionally, look for the firmware update for your AirPods and install it.
- To reset your AirPods, first off, put them in their charging case and close the lid. Make sure to wait 30 seconds.
- Note that if your AirPods appear in the My Devices list, hit the More Info button next to your AirPods > Forget This Device and confirm.
- With the cover open, you need to press and hold the configuration button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds until the status indicator starts flashing orange.
5. Tidal App Malfunctioning in CarPlay
Shadier_Sky is having a hard time dealing with the ill-functioning Tidal app in the CarPlay.
“There is an issue with Tidal and CarPlay with a black screen you have to go to Tidal then go to a different app then go back to Tidal to have the content finally show up.”
6. iPhone Crashes to the Lock Screen Randomly
iOS 18.5 seems to have triggered a random crashing loop for some iPhone users.
“Does anyone know if they’ll ever fix the random crashes to the Lock Screen? My 15 Pro Max does this every few days and it’s extremely annoying. Support was no help at all and this issue goes back all the way to 15.4 at least, ” reported FurryFoxJetPilot on Reddit.
7. iPhone Mirroring Blank Out
Ever since I updated to the iOS 18.5, the iPhone Mirroring has been struggling. More often than not, it’s showing the blank screen – without any rhyme or reason. As my workflow heavily relies on this Continuity feature, I wish Apple would sort it out sooner rather than later.

And that wraps up our look at the most frustrating bugs in iOS 18.5. While some issues are expected in beta software, it’s important to stay informed before making the jump.
